Purpose:

The physical therapist will be able to confidently present him/herself as an expert consultant to the workplace. The physical therapist will create a successful consulting practice that enjoys excellent outcomes. The physical therapist will be effective at branding and marketing him/herself as the expert of choice for reducing workplace MSD.

Goals & Objectives:

At the conclusion of this course, the attendee should be able to:

  1. List the essential steps to building a workplace consulting practice as the basis of a basic business plan.
  2. Write a basic marketing plan for branding and growing a successful workplace consulting practice.
  3. Describe outcomes measures for assessing effectiveness of prevention efforts.
  4. Write a proposal, including budget, for a comprehensive MSD prevention program for a client workplace.
  5. Describe how to overcome common objections client workplaces may offer to proposals for providing a comprehensive prevention program.
  6. Describe follow-up services to maximize long-term prevention program success for the client workplace and describe spin-off services for MSD management beyond primary prevention.
