Stefanie Palma PT, M.Ed., DPT, NCS


Dr. Stefanie Palma has practiced physical therapy for more than 30 years. A Board Certified Clinical Specialist in Neurology, her areas of interest include neurological rehabilitation, MFR, professionalism and ethics. Dr. Palma is the Department Chairman and an associate professor in the Physical Therapy Department at North Georgia College & State University and is also an associate professor at the Medical College of Georgia. She has been an active member of the Physical Therapy Association of Georgia for many years and has been recognized by them as an exceptional physical therapist, leader and educator.

Examples of Dr. Palma’s accomplishments include:

  • Commissioner for the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE); she also served on the Criteria Review Group for CAPTE, the group responsible for developing the 2006 accreditation criteria for all physical therapy education programs in the U.S.
  • Founding Program Director for the PTA program at Gwinnett Technical College.
  • Past President of the Physical Therapy Association of Georgia, as well as a past member of its Executive Board.
