David Baras M.D.


Dr. Baras is a board-certified physical medicine and rehabilitation specialist, otherwise known as a physiatrist. He has treated patients as a private practitioner in Pinellas County, Florida, for more than 20 years. As the past medical director of multiple rehabilitation centers, he developed programs and services for various medical and rehabilitation topics, including stroke, fibromyalgia, chronic pain and pain management, sports injuries, foot disorders and arthritis. An active runner, Dr. Baras enjoys competing in marathons — his latest challenge is to run marathons on all seven continents.

Examples of Dr. Baras's accomplishments include:

  • Clinical Preceptor for the University of South Florida Morsani School of Medicine, where he teaches first- and second- year medical students the art of physical diagnosis.
  • Fellow in the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation since 1985.
  • Active volunteer with his local Arthritis Foundation, where he is a past chair of their annual Arthritis Walk.
  • As an expert in functional loss and disability, Dr. Baras is often asked to perform independent medical examinations with special attention to motor vehicle accidents.
