  4. Recognize clinical manifestations and complications of type 1 diabetes.
  5. Identify type 1 diabetes signs and symptoms.
  6. List type 1 diabetes diagnostic criteria and understand the type 1 diabetes classification system.
  7. Collect relevant medical history information in children with type 1 diabetes.
  8. Understand medical treatment and medical nutrition therapy options for type 1 diabetes.
  9. Evaluate common type 1 diabetes laboratory blood values.
  10. Evaluate types and doses of insulin.
  11. Perform a physical examination specifically for children with type 1 diabetes.
  12. Understand physical therapy treatment options and outcome measures for children with type 1 diabetes, including child and parent education on blood glucose response to physical activity.
