USA Swimming Foundation: George Edelman PT, MPT, OCS, MTC and Bruce Gemmell

George Edelman PT, MPT, OCS, MTC
A lifelong swimmer, George Edelman has been a physical therapist for almost twenty years. He is active with USA Swimming's Sports Medicine and Science Network and has participated on a Sports Science Task Force for USA Swimming to develop programs for the “UN-injured” Swimmer. In 2012 and 2016, George joined the medical staff of USA Swimming for the Olympic Trials in Omaha, Nebraska, and he continues to work with the U.S. National Swimming Team on a yearly basis.

Bruce Gemmell
Bruce is the Head Site Coach at Nation's Capital Swim Club, and the coach of Olympic champion and world record holder Katie Ledecky. He previously coached for 14 years with Team Delaware and the Delaware Swim Team. Bruce coached his son, Andrew, to a spot on the 2012 Olympic team and World Championship gold and silver medals in open water swimming. Bruce was an assistant coach for the 2010 and 2014 Pan Pacific Swimming Championships, and the 2013 and 2015 World Games. He has been a staff member of the USA Junior team every year since 2006, and the USA National Team since 2008. Bruce was honored as ASCA Coach of the Year in 2013, 2014 and 2015.
